Bushnell trs-25 Review – Probably The Best Red Dot Available
When it comes to quality scopes, there are only a few players on the market and Bushnell is definitely holding the premium share of it. It doesn’t matter if you are an avid hunter or you only shoot occasionally, maybe every one or two weeks when you visit a neighboring shooting range – when it comes to targeting there’s nothing better like a red dot from one of Bushnell’s sights. In all honesty, I believe when it comes to red dots no manufacturer does a better job than Bushnell and I will I try to explain why in my Bushnell trs-25 review. You can check the current price here.
If you haven’t used any Bushnell products the change may surprise you – at least that’s what happened to me. In the beginning, I was quite skeptical as they charge a premium for their scopes but it didn’t take too long for me to get used to it, fall in love with it and now I can’t imagine using any other scope. Of course, this may sound like an exaggeration but let me introduce you to all the features and benefits of this scope and you’ll be able to judge for yourself whether making a change is worth it.
Let me start with the purely technical features of the new Bushnell trs-25;
- Quality Multi-coated optics.
- Amber-Bright high contrast lens.
- Long-lasting CR2032 battery.
- Reticle: 3 MOA Red Dot.
- Unlimited Eye Relief.
- Unlimited field of vision.
- Water- shock- and fog-proof.
- Durable, waterproof, sand-proof and light-weight construction.
- The battery can last around four months in standard use.
- Very clear optics, red dot clearly visible in both low and strong light.
- Quality to Price ratio is excellent.
- It’s very easy to quickly remove and switch to open sights.
- Multicoated scope optics is a great boost to visibility even in low light conditions.
- Allows you to distinguish between the target and the surroundings easily.
- Compared to a regular scope it may be a little too small for a typical rifle and a regular scope might be a better choice.
- Despite the fact that Bushnell is an American company the scope is not manufactured in the States.
Summary of our Bushnell trs-25 review
Honestly, when you look at all of the features it offers it’s obvious why this scope is ranked among the top scopes available – and why I’m so happy with it. It allows you to hunt even in low light conditions, easily distinguish between the target and surroundings and its durable design, shockproof construction and easy setup make it a great choice for those who require a lot of flexibility when shooting. Considering all of the features and benefits it provides for an average shooter, one can clearly see why Bushnell TRS-25 is well worth the money – and it’s still cheaper than most of the top scopes. And when compared with these, it doesn’t lack anything and is even capable of exceeding some of the features of its more expensive counterparts.
Although nothing is perfect and there are a few drawbacks – I really don’t like the fact that it’s not manufactured in the US-with pure quality taken into consideration this feature rich scope is still my top pick which I obviously personally use myself and even recommended to my family and friends.
Even if you are just like me – in love with the Bushnell TRS-25, it’s good to have some alternatives to choose from especially if you use different firearms. This gives a chance to select the best scope for each firearm. From my experience, two other scopes which I’d like to recommend are Primary Arms ADS and Holosun 403G.
Primary Arms ADS is a little bit more expensive than a standard version Bushnell TRS-25 though it works great in low light environments. It also beats TRS-25 with its super long battery life which is said to last as long as 50,000 hours (it uses 1 CR2032 battery and has an expanded lifespan due to advanced LED technology). The lenses are clear with barely any tint visible and the dot itself is bright as well – no blurring whatsoever.
The Holosun 403G is just like its two featured competitors – highly durable, with a 2 MOA size dot (just like Primary ARMS ADS) and the same LED technology lasting 50,000 hours on one battery. It costs a little bit more than the other two but comes with a lifetime warranty. It’s a great choice for both day and nighttime use.
If you’re looking for the scope with the best red dot then there’s no other option – Bushnell TRS-25 is the way to go. All three sights are made of high quality materials and provide all the necessary features though the two Bushnell’s alternatives come with a slightly better battery life and better night vision.
The price differences aren’t significant and since TRS-25 is cheaper, unless you’re looking for a very specific feature which sets one apart or you need a feature which isn’t available in both (such as motion awake, different light settings), it clearly is the best option from the three available.
I have personally used all three and while I really enjoyed each of them (and I still own all three), if I had to choose one to recommend, if you have never used a Bushnell before – go for it. It’s affordable, reliable and very convenient. We hope you have found our review of the Bushnell trs-25 helpful and it’s help you decide if it’s the right scope for you or not.
